Final sessions for free High School Equivalency Certificate April 28 and 30

The final sessions for those seeking to earn their High School Equivalency Certificate are April 28 and 30 at the Lee and Felicia Castellow Adult Learning Center at Casper College.

The first two sessions on Tuesday, April 28, occur at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The next three sessions on Thursday, April 30, occur at 9 a.m. and 1 or 6 p.m. The Castellow Adult Learning Center requires all students who want to work on earning their High School Equivalency Certificate through the center’s program to attend one of the five sessions.

For those aged 25 and older who are not high school graduates, the median earnings are $738 per week, compared with $930 per week for high school graduates. That means high school graduates will make $9,984 more per year than those without a high school diploma, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Office of Occupational Statistics and Employment Projections as of Aug. 28, 2025.

The free service is open to the public. The High School Equivalency preparation includes social studies, science, language arts, reading, writing, and math.

All sessions will be held at the CALC. Those wishing to attend one of the two information sessions on April 28 are asked to RSVP by Monday, April 27. Those wishing to attend one of the three information sessions on April 30 are asked to RSVP by Wednesday, April 29. Reservations can be made at the CALC’s website or by calling 307-268-2230. Those attending any of the five sessions must provide proof of eligibility, such as a birth certificate, passport, or REAL ID, to enroll in the program.

The CALC also offers English as a Second Language classes, and every student seeking additional education will receive assistance in finding a college and exploring career pathways.

The CALC is located on the southeast side of the Werner Technical Center on the Casper College campus.
