The Casper College Lady T-Birds are heading to the big dance, the 2024 NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship, from March 26 through April 1 at the Ford Wyoming Events Center.

The national tournament, which Casper has never hosted, will feature the top 24 DI teams in the nation. Thanks to the leadership and effort of Visit Casper, Casper has won the bid to host the tournament in 2025 as well.

The Lady Thunderbirds won the Region IX Northwest Plains Basketball Tournament for the third time in a row by beating No. 19 Plainswomen of Northeastern Junior College 81-69 on Saturday, March 16, giving them a ticket to the tournament.

The T-Birds will take their 28-5 record and begin play in the first round of tournament action against the Region XIV Mid-South winners, Blinn College Buccaneers (24-9), on Tuesday, March 26, at 10 a.m. Blinn College is located in Brenham, Texas.

The winner of that game will go up against the No. 3 ranked Northwest Florida State College Raiders. The Raiders won the Region XIII South Atlantic tournament and will bring a 27-3 record to the national tournament. Northwest Florida State College is located in Niceville, Florida. That game will occur on Thursday, March 28, at 4:30 p.m.

Basketball fans will be treated to 22 games in total during the tournament. Tickets are available here. Official live statistics and box scores will be available through the NJCAA.
