For the first time since 2010, the Casper College Lady Thunderbirds secured an opening-round win against the Blinn College Buccaneers 72-61 this morning at the Ford Wyoming Events Center.

Tomorrow, the team will go against last year’s national champions, the Northwest Florida State College Raiders (27-3), ranked No. 3 in this year’s tournament. Tip-off is at 4:30 p.m.

“All Wyoming basketball fans, fans of Casper College, and everyone else are urged to attend tomorrow’s game in person at the FWEC. “We need and want a large and rocking crowd to cheer the T-Birds on to victory,” said Chris Lorenzen, director of public relations. “Today’s crowd was fantastic and made a difference for the team. It was truly a fun time cheering on the home team Thunderbirds,” Lorenzen added.

Tickets are available at fordwyomingcenter.com/events. Official live statistics and box scores are available through the NJCAA.
