Amos and Morris sign with DI schools for men’s soccer

Casper College Men’s Soccer team members Hugo Amo and Garrett Morris signed their letter of intent today to play at the Division I level in the NCAA.

Amo, a sophomore goalkeeper from Burgos, Spain, will continue his collegiate soccer career at the University of Evansville. According to Ben McArthur, head coach of the Casper College Men’s Soccer team, Amo came to the attention of the University of Evansville’s coaching staff during the NJCAA DI Men’s Soccer Championship in November.” They watched Hugo play at the national tournament and have been recruiting him since then,” said McArthur. According to McArthur, the 6’3” Amo started 18 games, had a goal against of 0.86 goals a game, six shutouts on the year, and was named a First Team All-Region player. The Purple Aces, who play in the NCAA DI Missouri Valley Conference, ended the 2023 season 4-8-4.

Morris committed to play soccer for the University of Southern Indiana, which competes in the NCAA Division I Ohio Valley Conference. “During the 2023 season, Garrett scored three goals in his college career, including one at the 2023 National Tournament vs Louisiana State University at Eunice,” said McArthur. Morris came to play soccer for Casper College after a successful high school career in Powell, where he was named an All-State Selection in Wyoming his senior year. As a sophomore midfielder at CC, Garrett started 12 games and was named an honorable mention All-Region Player. The Screaming Eagles ended the 2023 season 2-12-3.
