A magical journey along the Danube River from Frankfurt to Vienna and six nights aboard the Amadeus Cara is currently offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, OLLI, at Casper College.

The 10-day experience will be hosted by community education and OLLI staff. “The trip is open to OLLI members and those interested in becoming OLLI members,” said Brittney Good, community education program coordinator.

The trip will take place December 1-10, 2024, creating unforgettable memories in the enchanting cities and ports along the Danube River, including Frankfurt, Rothenburg, Nuremberg, Passau, Regensburg, and Vienna. “Travelers will revel in the delightful scents of roasted chestnuts, gingerbread, mulled wine, and grilled sausages as they wander through Christmas markets and embrace the charm of quaint buildings,” Good said. Other highlights are a tour of the Melk Abbey — an Austrian Benedictine abbey and one of the world’s most famous monastic sites — and gluehwein tasting.

“You’ll step into a magical winter wonderland as you explore the vibrant Christmas markets, showcasing ornaments, crafts, candles, and nutcrackers,” said Good. “This is your chance to experience the essence of the season, surrounded by the traditions and treasures of Europe,” she added.

Trip cost includes roundtrip airfare from Casper, two nights in Frankfurt, a six-night cruise, 19 meals, hand-selected wines and beers with dinner, and welcome and farewell dinners.

Registration has begun and will remain open as long as seats are available. Costs and more details can be found here. For more information, call 307-268-3401 or email comm_ed@caspercollege.edu.
