The Casper College Volleyball team is in a friendly competition with the Golden Eagles of Laramie County Community College to see which team can raise the largest donation for the fight against breast cancer. The T-Birds are calling their fundraiser “Flight for a Cure.”

According to Volleyball Head Coach Angel Sharman, the competition between the two colleges is intended to be the start of a good-natured annual tradition between the two programs. Fundraising will be done through the sale of memorial T-shirts.

The Golden Eagles held their “Pink Out” event against the T-Birds on October 7 when they played against the Birds in Cheyenne, winning the contest 3-1. Sharman hopes her team can avenge the Golden Eagles with a win on October 28 on the court and in T-shirt sales and donations. The Lady T-Birds are asking Natrona County residents to purchase a memorial T-shirt, available in pink or white, for just $10, with the goal of 500 T-shirts sold before the October 28 game.

In addition, those who wear their shirt on the final game of the season, October 28, will get in free of charge.

To purchase a T-shirt online or donate to Flight for a Cure, go here or call 307-268-2256.

The volleyball contest will occur in the “Swede” Erickson Thunderbird Gymnasium.

“Flight for a Cure” is sponsored by Casper Medical Imaging and Outpatient Radiology, Banner Health, Rocky Mountain Oncology, and Casper College.
