Four T-Birds Recognized for Athletic Skills

Four sophomores from the Casper College Thunderbirds Basketball team have been recognized for their outstanding play during the 2018-2019 season.

Isaac Bonton, a 6’3” guard from Portland, Oregon, was named to the Region IX All-Tournament Team, as Region IX Co-Player of the Year, and First Team All-Region. The National Junior College Athletic Association also named Bonton as a Second Team All-American. During the season, Bonton scored an average of 21.4 points per game and had a free-throw percentage of 84.3.

Forward Wilfried Likayi, also from Portland Oregon, was named to the Region IX All-Tournament Team and the Second Team All-Region. The 6’10” Likayi averaged 16.8 points per game and had a free-throw percentage of 77.2.

London, England’s Amin Adamu was named to the Region IX All-Tournament Team and the Second Team All-Region. The 6’4” guard averaged 15.1 points per game and had a free-throw percentage of 78.9.

Broc Finstuen, a 6’5” guard from Pine Island, Minnesota, was named to the Third Team All-Region. Finstuen averaged 13.0 points per game and had a free-throw percentage of 75.4

“I am very excited for all these guys because they have worked extremely hard and bought into the program and helped us win a Region IX championship, the first since 1996, as well as a national tournament appearance. We had an unbelievable team this year, and a lot of the credit goes to these four guys and the chemistry and trust that they have amongst each other,” said Head Coach Dan Russell.
