In partnership with Art 321, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Casper College will be offering two classes for the fall 2018 semester.

The first, “Art 321: Mixed Media” is an enjoyable class that will use different art mediums as a chance for participants to try pastels, designs on wood, jewelry, and card-making techniques.

“This class provides a great chance for OLLIs to have fun in a friendly environment and try out new ways of creating art without having to invest in a lot of materials,” said Vicki Pollock, lifelong learning specialist.

The class, taught by Carol Chapman, will be held on Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m. September 19 through October 10.

The second offering, “Playing in the Mud” will be facilitated by Chapman and Art 321 instructors. The class will be held on Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. beginning October 4 and running through October 25.

Students will enjoy playing in the mud with classmates as they learn about ceramics, including coil, pinch and slab building, glazes, patterns, drawings, and texture in the class. Students will also learn how to use a pottery wheel or refresh their pottery wheel skills. The class is designed for both beginners and those wishing to update their skills and knowledge.

To register for either or both classes, go to www.caspercollege.augusoft.net or for more information contact Pollock at 307-268-2097 or vpollock@caspercollege.edu or Jeaneece Schmidt, lifelong learning specialist, at 307-268-2099 or jeaneece.schmidt@caspercollege.edu.
