The registration deadline is approaching for the “Oregon Trails East” trip through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Casper College.

The deadline to register for the class, taught by Casper native Dwain Romsa, is Tuesday, August 7.

“Oregon Trails East” will feature an in-depth overnight trip to sites east of Casper along the Oregon Trail. Historical highlights and stopping points on the trip include Scottsbluff and Chimney Rock National Monument, a tour of Ft. Laramie, and a presentation.

The class includes a pre-trip lecture on Monday, Sept. 10 from 6-7:30 p.m. for learning enhancement. The trip itself will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 11 and 12, and includes an overnight stay in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. “Dwain is a wealth of information related to history in Wyoming and the surrounding region,” said Jeaneece Schmidt, lifelong learning specialist.

The cost of the class and trip is $280 for single, $230 for double, and $215 for triple occupancy. The price includes all transportation, hotel, and three meals out of four. The deadline to register is Tuesday, August 7.

To register or for more information, contact Schmidt at 307-268-2099 or jeaneece.schmidt@caspercollege.edu or Vicki Pollock, lifelong learning specialist, at 307-268-2097 or vpollock@caspercollege.edu.
