Casper College Thunderbird Basketball player Jackson Stent has committed to continue his college basketball career with the Division 1 Houston Baptist University Huskies.

“We are really going to miss Jackson’s presence on the floor and off the floor. His ability to shoot the ball and more importantly pass the ball at his position was something that really helped us offensively this season, said Head Coach Dan Russell of the 6’8” forward. “We are extremely excited for Jackson as he has worked hard on and off the floor and in the classroom to become a great person and student,” Russell added.

This year Stent played in all 32 Thunderbird games where he scored an average of 6.9 points per game, where he completed 32.4 percent of his 3-point shots and completed 50 percent of his field goals and 80 percent of his free throws.

The Huskies play in the Southland Conference where they compiled a 6-25 record for the 2017-2018 season.

Stent, who hails from New Zealand, will graduate from Casper College with two Associate of Science degrees, one in general studies that he received in May 2017, and the other in Athletic Training that he will receive this May.
