Talent Search for Children to Star in “Mary Poppins”

William Conte, director for the Casper College summer musical production of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” is in need of community participants to audition for roles in the musical.

Auditions will be held for the roles of Jane and Michael Banks for Casper College’s production of the Disney and Cameron Mackintosh Broadway musical “Mary Poppins” on Saturday, August 26 beginning at 1 p.m.

Girls and boys between the ages of 8 and 14 who can learn music and memorize lines are asked to audition for the roles of the two children.

For the audition, children are asked to prepare a verse and refrain from their favorite song for the audition and to participate in a movement and dance session.

Children selected for the roles will need to attend rehearsals, which are scheduled for Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a break for lunch starting on Wednesday, Aug. 30. The production will run October 19-22 and again October 25-28.

Auditions will take place in the Gertrude Krampert Center for Theatre and Dance located on the Casper College campus. To schedule an audition time, call the office at 307-268-2365.

“Mary Poppins” is being directed by Richard Burk with choreography by Jodi Youmans-Jones and musical direction by James Olm.
