College in Need of Scholarship Judges

By: Lisa S. Icenogle

The Casper College Foundation and Alumni Association are seeking volunteers for Wednesday and Thursday, March 15 and 16, for the scholarship Judge-A-Thon at Casper College.

Volunteers can choose to spend all or part of the day judging. While the judging process is easy, volunteers need to be familiar with operating a computer. According to Becky Wise, instructions and coaching will be available for all volunteers and lunch will be provided each day from local businesses including The Flour Bin and La Cocina.

A total of 977 scholarship applications for the fall semester awards need to be judged. Volunteers read the students’ stories and score the applications. “We couldn’t get this process done well without their help,” said Wise, foundation coordinator.

To volunteer to judge, or for more information, contact Wise at 307-268-2256 or register online at The Casper College Judge-A-Thon will be held each day in the Center for Excellence, Room 126 in the Thorson Institute of Business, located on the Casper College campus
