Casper College has been named to the 2021-2022 Military Friendly Schools list as a Bronze Award recipient. The list, compiled by Military Friendly, honors those colleges, universities, and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans, and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.

According to Military Friendly, schools that receive the Bronze Award designation are those that “ … scored within 30% of the 10th best school in their category. These institutions have exceptional military/veteran programs, and this award showcases their dedication.”

“Most importantly, the military friendly designation distinguishes Casper College as a place that provides ample opportunity and support for veterans,” said Nicholas Whipps, veteran and international student coordinator. According to Whipps, most military bases, recruiting centers, Veterans Affairs offices have GI Jobs magazine subscriptions and refer military-affiliated potential students to Viqtory to get more information about what schools to look for and the services they offer. “This is a huge recruiting tool for us in the military community,” said Whipps, adding, “GI Jobs magazine always has an annual military friendly schools issue that students can access along with the detailed information on the website that students can look up whenever they want.

Nicholas Whipps, veteran and international student coordinator, noted that being a Military Friendly Bronze member “means that Casper College provides ample opportunity and support for veterans.”

Institutions earning the Military Friendly School designation were evaluated using public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey completed by the school. More than 1,200 schools participated in the 2021-2022 survey, with 747 schools earning the designation from every state in the country.

The 2021-2022 Military Friendly Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.

Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Viqtory with input from the Military Friendly Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey response set and government/agency public data sources within a logic-based scoring assessment. The institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence — degree advancement or transfer, and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans is measured.

Founded in 2001, VIQTORY is a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business that connects the military community to civilian employment, educational and entrepreneurial opportunities through its G.I. Jobs and Military Friendly brands.
