Exciting ‘Rock the Tate’ gem show and seminars set for Saturday, Feb. 7

The second annual “Rock the Tate” is set for Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tate Geological Museum on the Casper College campus near the giant T.rex statue.

“This will be a fun event showcasing a variety of vendors with rock and mineral samples and jewelry made from local gems,” said Dalene Hodnett, director of museums.

There will also be presentations on area geology, and special guest Wayne Sutherland will discuss his book “Wyoming Jade — Characteristics, History, Formation, and Occurrences.”

The event is free and open to the public, and gemstone and related vendors are invited to have a booth. They should contact Hodnett at 307-268-3026 for details.
