Final days of ‘Reclamation’ exhibit at Casper College

“Reclamation,” featuring the works of Rayna E. Januska, will close at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7. The exhibit is on display in the Mildred Zahradnicek Gallery.
“’Reclamation’ is a quiet reflection on resilience, survival, and reclaiming what once seemed lost,” said Januska. In 2015, Januska was a recipient of a stem cell transplant that granted her remission from primary amyloidosis, a terminal blood disorder that had caused damage to her heart and causing extreme heart failure.
“By 2018, even lifting my camera, once an extension of my soul, was impossible,” she recalled. Her healing, however, began that same year when she received a heart transplant at the University of Utah. “My healing began, not just in the hospital, but in the streets of Salt Lake City,” she stated.
The body of work featured in “Reclamation” … “offers a glimpse into that journey of reclamation. I hope viewers will find echoes of their own strength and a reminder that beauty is always waiting to be reclaimed,” she noted.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. The Mildred Zahradnicek Gallery is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and is located in the Music Building on the Casper College campus.
