Triple C and Jazz Ensemble perform adored and notable hits at Jazz Night

Two of Casper College’s popular musical groups will perform adored and notable hits from the past at the spring edition of Casper College’s “Jazz Night” Concert on Tuesday, April 16, at 7 p.m. in the Wheeler Concert Hall.

The music, both fun and serious, promises to keep the audience entertained as each group performs its selections.

The Casper College Contemporary Singers, under the direction of Zachary Vreeman, DMA, will perform “Beyond the Sea,” “I’ll Be Seeing You,” Caravan,” and others. Members of Triple C include Danica Boyce, Caroline Weiss, Madison Billings, Katie Baumstarck, Kevin Kaske, Jeremy Rich, Cole Cooper, and Owen LaCount.

Joshua R. Mietz, DMA, conducts the Casper College Jazz Ensemble. The ensemble will perform several classics, including “One O’Clock Jump,” “Don’t Know Why,” Freddie Freeloader,” and “Witchcraft.” Joining the ensemble on “Don’t Know Why” are Boyce on vocals and Ozzy Ness on flugelhorn, while Boyce again provides vocals and Mietz joins on clarinet for “Witchcraft.”

Members of the ensemble include Toby Clouser on alto saxophone; BreNae Candelaria on alto saxophone and theremin; Aidan Murphy, Dylan Mazzanti, and Jenna Farley on tenor saxophone; Ness, Steve Johnston, and Eternity Thunder-Tophia on trumpet; Walker Wyckoff, and Kelly Vandamme on electric bass; and in the rhythm section TC Lyman and Joshua Knutson on piano and keyboard; Jacob Larson on guitar; Jim Kasler on bass; and Michael Broyles on drums.

“Jazz Night” is free and open to the public. The Wheeler Concert Hall is in the Music Building on the Casper College campus.
