Lauren Weitzel and Samantha Wood have been recognized as the 2015-16 Casper College Outstanding Student Employees by the Casper College Student Success Center.

Minimum requirements to qualify for the award included current enrollment at Casper College, employment in a work-study position at the college, and a cumulative GPA of 2.0. Both students received two letters of nomination from their supervisors and the winners were selected from a pool of qualified nominations.

Weitzel, who worked in the college’s human resources office, was recognized for her high sense of duty, filing with precision, great organizational skills, efficiency, and accuracy. She graduated this spring with an A.S. in mathematics-secondary education.

Wood, who worked in the college’s student success center, was recognized for her customer service and computer skills, positive attitude and helpfulness. She graduated this spring with her A.S. in psychology.

“Student employees play a vital role in the functioning of many offices and departments at the college.  We emphasize that these are real jobs and prepare students for their future professions. We annually recognize students who excel in their contributions to the college,” said Director of Student Success Services Janet de Vries.
