Casper College criminal justice major Jordan Gill of Gillette, Wyoming, has been named as the 2016 Wyoming Association of Community College Trustees Student of the Year for the 2015-16 school year.

Gill was nominated by two of her Casper College instructors, Jared Bowden, physics, and Maya Russell, criminal justice. According to both, Gill is “deserving of the WACCT Award for more than her perfect grades as Jordan is a leader on campus, a joy to have in the classroom, and an overall wonderful Wyomingite.”

Russell was also quick to point out Gill’s leadership abilities, which she said, “set Jordan apart.” In leadership roles Gill has served as president of the Casper College Criminal Justice Club, freshman representative on the Casper College Student Senate, and currently as president of the student senate.

“Jordan has been a pleasure to work with this year in her role as student senate president,” said Kim Byrd, Casper College vice president for student services, adding, “She is a young lady that will accomplish great things in her life and I look forward to seeing where she is in 10 years.”
