Casper College has been named a 2026-27 Military Friendly® Gold Award and Spouse Friendly recipient. The lists, compiled by Viqtory Media Inc., honor those colleges, universities, and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans, and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.
“These military-friendly designations distinguish Casper College as a school that provides ample opportunities and support for veterans and their spouses. They are a testament to the care and service we are proud to provide to our veteran students and their families who have sacrificed so much for us,” said Chelse DePaolo-Lara, associate vice president for enrollment management.
According to Viqtory Media, institutions earning the Military Friendly School designation were evaluated using public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Over 3,200 schools participated in the 2026-2027 survey, with 878 earning special awards for exceeding the standard. A total of 730 schools were recognized as 2026-27 Military Spouse Friendly Schools, according to the 2026-2027 Military Friendly Schools Data Snapshot.
Schools that receive the Gold Award represent overall survey scores that fall above 41% or score at or above .41 and have five or more qualifying benchmarks. Community colleges were categorized as “small” or “large.” A total of 232 community colleges earned the Military Friendly designation.
“Earning the Military Friendly designation is more than a badge of honor; it is a reflection of an institution’s deep-rooted values and strategic commitment to those who served. These schools don’t just open doors for veterans and military spouses; they build sustainable pathways for academic success and long-term impact. Their support is transformative, proving that investing in military-connected students is both a moral imperative and a standard for educational excellence,” said Kayla Lopez, vice president of memberships, Military Friendly.
The list of Military Friendly Schools and Military Spouse Friendly Schools ratings was assessed through methodology, criteria, and weightings, which were determined by Military Friendly, in consultation with the Military Friendly Advisory Council, a group of independent leaders in the military community. Final ratings were determined by combining an organization’s survey score, public data, and an assessment of the institution’s ability to meet and exceed thresholds for student recruitment, retention, academic progress, graduation rates, career placement and support services for veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses.
