Casper College Running Club hosts Halloween Costume Run

The Halloween Costume Run, a free and fun event organized and hosted by the Casper College Running Club, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30, beginning at 5 p.m. Everyone is invited to participate.
According to Joseph Meeks, club sponsor and business instructor, the costume run is 1.7 miles, or one lap around campus, with the starting line at the lawn of the Residence Hall, across from the Casper College Union/University of Wyoming at Casper building. A map of the run will be available at registration.
There is no preregistration. Runners are asked to arrive 15 minutes early to register at the starting line. To participate in the free run, all runners must wear a Halloween costume.
Following the run, prizes will be given to the best adult male costume, best adult female costume, and best children’s costume. “Along the way, tables will be set up with people handing out candy to the runners,” said Meeks.
“We decided to put this run on because costume runs are a blast, and we wanted CC students to have an opportunity to run one while they’re attending CC. We also wanted to bring the Casper community to campus and let them have some fun with our students,” Meeks noted.
While the run is free, the club will be accepting donations, which Meeks said were very appreciated.
The Union/University building is located on the lower part of the Casper College campus and is home to the school’s Dick and Marialyce Tobin Dining Hall.
