An array of engaging and diverse classes is offered for October through Casper College Community Education.

October courses include ProtonMail for Privacy, Printmaking: Colorful Cards, Salsa Date Night, Aerial Yoga, Fitness Boxing, UV Resin Jewelry, and more. “Community Education offers a wide range of learning experiences that spark new interests and expand our horizons — whether you’re exploring a new hobby or gaining skills for future opportunities,” said Zhanna Gallegos, community education coordinator at Casper College.

For those interested in digital security, ProtonMail for Privacy provides students with the opportunity to take control of their online privacy. Instructor Brian Clark will guide participants through the importance of privacy-focused email solutions, even on the free tier. Students will explore tools like Proton VPN and Proton Pass and learn to register their own domain for full email control. The class will help participants acquire skills to safeguard their privacy, understand how to switch providers, and help to set up their Proton account. Students should bring a personal device, such as a smartphone or laptop. The class will meet Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Art enthusiasts won’t want to miss Printmaking: Colorful Cards, where they will explore relief printmaking tools and techniques achievable without a full studio. According to instructor Rachel Savage, participants will delve into linoleum block carving and experiment with paper types. Students will explore techniques for creating multicolor prints and design their own handmade cards — perfect for holidays or any special occasion. Supplies are provided, and the class is suitable for all levels. Printmaking: Colorful Cards will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, October 8-9, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Those looking for a fun evening out should consider Salsa Date Night. Students are encouraged to come with a partner, a friend, or a family member to learn basic steps, simple turns, and then enjoy dancing salsa together. No prior experience is required, and “two left feet are welcome,” according to instructor Manuela Ortiz. The class will include nonalcoholic refreshments and sweets. Registration is required by Tuesday, Oct. 14, and each participant must register and pay for this class individually. Salsa Date Night will be held Friday, Oct. 17, from 6-8 p.m.

Fitness enthusiasts have two exciting options this October. Aerial Yoga, taught by Candace Machado, invites students to discover a new way of combining fitness and relaxation. Participants will manage stress, boost strength, and elevate their mood while practicing moves that enhance flexibility, balance, and circulation. Students should bring a water bottle and a yoga mat, and wear comfortable clothing without zippers. The class is suitable for all levels and will meet Saturdays, Oct. 25 through Nov. 15, from 1-2:15 p.m.

Fitness Boxing offers another dynamic workout option, where students can burn calories, relieve stress, and boost cardio in a fun class designed for all fitness levels and body types. Instructor Billy Walters noted that participants will elevate their physical and mental health as they enhance their posture and challenge their cognition with an energizing blend of boxing movements and exercise routines. Selected supplies and equipment are provided; however, students should bring 14-ounce boxing gloves and 180-inch hand wraps. The class will meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, Oct. 27 through Nov. 14, from 3-3:45 p.m.

For those interested in crafting, UV Resin Jewelry offers participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of resin. Students will examine the difference between resin varieties and select the perfect type for their project. Students will gain practical experience with alcohol inks, mica powders, pigments, and add-ins with UV resin. Students will create earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and/or rings. Supplies are provided, and tools and safety equipment are available for students to use. The class is suitable for all levels and will be held Thursday, Oct. 30, from 6-8:30 p.m.

Community education offers noncredit courses for personal enrichment and lifelong learning to individuals 18 years of age and older. It’s easy to sign up for more information on these and other Casper College Community Education classes by clicking on this link.
