Outcomes

Use American Sign Language (ASL) for interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational communication at the intermediate, low-to-intermediate, or high proficiency range, as defined by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
Identify and explain diverse cultural behaviors, discourse conventions, historical perspectives, and regional and dialectal variations in ASL.
Critically analyze real-world situations to determine how personal, civic, and social responsibilities shape equity, access, and inclusion for deaf people and within deaf culture.
Recognize, value, and critically engage with the aesthetic, cultural, historical, and philosophical dimensions of traditions within the Deaf community.

What is the learning environment like?

We pride ourselves on a 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio and an average class size of about 12 students. This allows for the individualized service and real-world connections that define the Casper College experience.

Yes, we have both a residence hall and apartment options. Apartments are generally recommended for our sophomores and nontraditional students. Where exactly is the campus located?

My favorite thing about ASL is it is one of the easier classes to engage in because I enjoy the activities and find the readings interesting.
