Former standout CC player named as assistant women’s basketball coach

Casper College’s standout basketball player and University of Wyoming basketball player, Joslin Igo of Douglas, has been named the new assistant women’s basketball coach at Casper College.
“I am excited to have her join Casper College Women’s Basketball as the assistant coach, and I know she will do a tremendous job for us,” said Nate Macy. Currently the Thunderbirds’ assistant coach, Macy, will take over as head coach on July 1.
“I played my first two years of college basketball at Casper College and I could not think of a better place for me to grow as a player and a person. The strong community, amazing staff members, and high caliber basketball program made my time in Casper special,” noted Igo. “The knowledge of the game, drills, tactics, and contacts that I acquired while at UW will bring the Casper College Women’s Basketball program up a level,” she added.
Igo was a guard on the CC Women’s Basketball team during the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons when the Birds had a 58-9 overall record, and Macy was assistant coach and Dwight Gunnare was head coach. During both seasons, the T-Birds won the Region 9 Championship and went to the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association Women’s National Basketball Tournament. Igo was named an All-Region 9 selection in 2023. “I will work to continue the winning tradition that Casper College has created while providing our student-athletes with the skills needed to succeed in life after collegiate athletics,” said Igo.
Igo continued her collegiate basketball career at the University of Wyoming. During her time at Laramie, the Cowgirls went 40-27 overall, played in the Mountain West Championship game and played in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament and the Women’s Basketball Initiation Tournament. She graduated in May with her B.S. in kinesiology and health promotion.
