CC Radiography Student Contributes to National Radiography Journal

Second-year radiography student Codi Francis recently had her article titled “Student Offers Sage Advice: Tips for a Successful Job Search and Meeting Career Goals,” published in the ASRT Scanner, the magazine of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.

“Codi was the only student speaker at the Wyoming Society of Radiologic Technologists Annual Educational Conference in September 2015, where she presented to 35 Wyoming radiography students as well as many registered technologists,” says Laurie Weaver, director of the Casper College Radiography program. So impressed with Codi’s presentation, Becky Apodaca, director of professional practice for the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, later contacted Francis via email to ask if she might be interested in contributing an article to the ASRT Scanner.

Weaver believes that Francis’ article will “reach out to students across the nation and help them as they graduate and move into the profession. Needless to say, I am very proud of her,” she says.

Francis came from Montana to Casper College in April of 2014 to get ready to begin summer classes. Since starting at Casper College, Francis has earned a certificate in phlebotomy and an A.S. in health science. She will graduate this month with her A.S. in radiography.
