Casper College’s Jeremy Solko has been named the 2026 Jon E. Brady Award in Political Study winner. Solko is a double major in political science and business administration. He is the 26th recipient of the annual award.
“Jeremy has been an outstanding student in all four of the classes he has taken with me. He is always engaged and participatory with thoughtful insights that help everyone gain a better understanding of the materials,” said Erich Frankland, political science instructor.
According to Frankland, Solko was admitted to the selective issues in foreign relations courses during the 2023-2024 school year. During that time, he was an integral part of the team’s research project on Taiwan and actively participated in class and at the Casper Committee on Foreign Relations’ monthly dinners. “He really held his own during our participation in the annual conference of the American Committees on Foreign Relations in Washington, D.C., with top speakers, including Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman,” Frankland said. “I can always count on Jeremy to ask the difficult questions and provide a steady foundation for others to do the same,” added Frankland.
Other instructors also had positive interactions with Soloko, including Dean of the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences Nathan Blank, who noted that “Jeremy is an insightful student with great integrity,” and history instructor Tanis Lovercheck-Saunders, who said, “Jeremy has a confidence and maturity that makes him a standout among his peers.”
Past Jon E. Brady Award in Political Study at Casper College award recipients include Rachelle Trujillo, 2021; Cameron Moore, 2022; Avy Overstreet, 2023; Keenan Morgan, 2024; and Aster Harrison, 2025. The award is named after Jon Brady, instructor emeritus of political science at Casper College.
