The CC Women’s Soccer team broke records and sent players to the next level of play in 2025-26, posting an overall record of 11-4-2 and a conference record of 9-1-2.
“We broke a program record for goals scored in a season with 53,” said Jocelyn Norcross, assistant coach. The team lost the Region 9 championship 2-1 to the Golden Eagles of Laramie County Community College. However, over the last three years, the team has not lost a Region 9 regular-season game. Norcross noted that one game was ruled a forfeit due to a clerical error.
One player, sophomore Taylor Miller, Providence, Utah, had an outstanding year, breaking three program records in a single game against Northeastern Junior College. In that game, the Lady T-Birds beat the NJC Plainswomen 10-0, and Miller set records for goals in a game (4), in a season (17), and for career goals (21). “She would have had more goals her freshman year but spent most of it on the bench with an injury,” Norcross said.
Three sophomores and one freshman signed to play at the next level. Tyniah White of Nibley, Utah, signed with the Lady Tigers of NCAA Division I Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. She will play under the new head coach, Chris Logan.
The other player heading to an NCAA DI school is freshman Thale Ruether from Bad Fallingbostel, Germany. In announcing her signing to play for the University of North Dakota’s Fighting Hawks, the school noted that during her freshman season at Casper College, Ruether appeared in and started 14 games for a total of 80 minutes on the field, posted a .845 save percentage, was named the 2025 Goalkeeper of the Year for Region 9, and was named to the 2025 Second Team All-Conference for Region 9. “Thale got an offer that she just couldn’t refuse,” said Norcross.
Two players are moving on to DII schools. Selam Binegar of Holladay, Utah, is heading to Minot State in Minot, North Dakota, to play for the Beavers. Last year, the Beavers finished 9-5-5 overall and 9-2-4 in conference play under then-head coach Chris Logan. The Beavers compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
Rylee May of Hamilton, New Zealand, will play for the Knights of Middle Georgia State University next season. For the 2025-26 season, the team finished 4-9-5 overall and 0-8-2 in conference play under head coach Vinny Gill. The Knights compete in the Peach Belt Conference.
Finally, Olivia Riches of Murray, Utah, will attend Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana. The Battlin’ Bears are a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and compete in the Frontier Conference. Under head coach Richard Duffy, the team finished 12-4-1 overall and 9-2-1 in conference play.
“Overall, all of our sophomores who wanted to continue to play are playing on,” said Norcross. The team ended the 2025-26 school year with a 3.2 team GPA.
