Talented musicians will close out the 2026 school year at Casper College with a student recital. The recital, featuring graduating sophomores Ruby Martin and Linsey Thomason, will take place on Friday, May 8, at 7 p.m. in the Wheeler Concert Hall.

Last year, as a freshman, Martin took third place in the 15-18 age category at the International Clarinet Association’s online festival and competition, Clareidoscope.

Martin, who will perform on clarinet, and Thomason, who will perform on violin, will be joined by special guests Paula Flynn, adjunct music instructor, on piano, and students Tre Weant on clarinet, Liam Greene on piano, Ozzy Ness on trumpet, and Milo Jacobs on piano.

Various compositions will be performed during the night and include “Canzonetta, Op. 19,” a piece for clarinet and piano written by French composer, conductor, pianist, and organist Gabriel Pierné. Flynn will accompany on piano.

“Suite for Violin, Clarinet, and Piano, Op. 157b” will include guests Weant and Greene. The suite was composed by one of the most prolific composers of the 20th century, French composer Darius Milhaud. “A Little Circus Act,” written by 21st-century composer Milo Jacobs, will feature Ness and Jacob.

Martin and Thomason will finish with “Concerto in G-Minor, Op. 12” by Friedrich Seitz; “Sonata for Clarinet and Piano in E-flat Major, Op. 67” by Camille Saint-Saëns; “Under Western Skies” by Kevin McKee; and “Sailing” by Joe Fried.

Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy performances by talented Casper College music students. The recital is free and open to the public. The Wheeler Concert Hall is located in the Music Building on the Casper College campus.
