A pairing of art and music is scheduled for the Casper College RedStone Recital and Gallery Series on Friday evening, September 15. The event, which launches the fifth RedStone season, begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Mildred Zahradnicek Gallery in the Music Building. At 7:30 p.m., the Casper College music faculty will present a varied recital in the beautiful Wheeler Concert Hall.

Music works mostly mirror the Italian theme of the art exhibition. Faculty performers include Douglas Bull, trumpet; Ron Coulter, percussion, with guest Jay Reed, guitar; Jennifer Cowell-DePaolo, violin; Jane Ann Hamman, harp; Kristen Lenth, soprano; Joshua Mietz, clarinet; Scott Schwab, piano; Delores Thornton, alto flute; Richard Turner, bassoon; Veronica Turner, soprano; and Zachary Vreeman, tenor. Eric Unruh and Scott Schwab will serve as piano collaborators.

The exhibition in the Zahradnicek Gallery, titled “Art Inspired by Rome,” includes works by Rosemary Bartle, Melissa Connely, Cesly Devault, Tara Fairbanks, Gavin Marvel, Paula McMichael, Jennifer Pepple, Linda Ryan, Beth Wisely, Amanda Yonker, and Ethan Yonker. The exhibitors traveled with the Casper College art history and geology course to Rome last spring. This exhibition emphasizes the value of world travel as a source of creative inspiration.

General admission tickets for the RedStone Recital can be purchased online at www.caspercollegearts.cc for $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets are also available on campus in the Music Building, Room 137, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on the evening of the performance. A reception will follow each event.

The Music Building is located on the Casper College campus.
