The Casper College Theatre and Dance Department will hold scholarship auditions Wednesday, May 18, at 7 p.m.

Scholarships are available for acting, dance, musical theater, and technical theater. Individuals are urged to come audition no matter their training and experience.

Those interested in acting are asked to perform a monologue that will show their abilities.

Those interested in musical theater are asked to perform a song and monologue that will show their abilities.

Dancers are asked to prepare a one-and-a-half minute to two-minute solo from any genre, including modern, ballet, or jazz. Some of the things for dancers to consider when preparing their solo are high levels like leaps and low levels like floorwork, and pirouettes, turns, musicality, and overall performance quality. Dancers are also asked to prepare a resume that includes their dance training history.

Finally, those interested in technical theater are asked to present a portfolio of their work. However, if some do not have a portfolio, the theater and dance faculty would like them to share why they are interested in technical theater.

The auditions will be held in the south lobby, where the Thomas H. Empey Studio Theatre and the Barbara N. and Leland F. Scifers Theatre are both housed in the Gertrude Krampert Center for Theatre and Dance located on the Casper College campus.

For questions, call the theater and dance office at 307-268-2365.
