English (Literature/Writing/Secondary Education)

Creativity, flexibility, and critical thinking are required skills for today's workforce. The English program at Casper College empowers students with a variety of reading, writing, and research demands, showing how reading and thinking well enable us to confidently unravel and interpret complex data and produce written documents for various audiences.

To study English is to explore — deeply and rewardingly — the rich legacy of literature written in English. This tradition details how humans have attempted to make sense of their world and their place in that world.

"In our technocentric world ... technology is about making the lives of humans better ... [and] it is the humanities and social sciences that teach us about the human condition and how it might be improved," said John Hennessy, chairman of Alphabet, the parent company of Google.
