What is SparkTank

SparkTank is a Casper College initiative inspired by a similar program at the University of Wyoming. Our goal is to bring Casper College students, local nonprofits, and social entrepreneurs together to support community needs in Natrona County.

SparkTank will award funding, on a competitive basis to local 501(c)(3) organizations to support projects that serve the local community in ways that may otherwise be overlooked.

THE IMPACT

SparkTank is more than just a project — it’s a community-driven movement.
At Casper College, SparkTank connects students with local nonprofits, building meaningful partnerships that strengthen our region and offer students an unmatched, real-world learning experience that goes beyond the classroom.

PROCESS

At Casper College, we recognize the significance of SparkTank—not just for our student innovators, but for the generous donors who believe in their potential. That’s why SparkTank’s selection and evaluation process is built on a foundation of validity, reliability, and transparency. With so much on the line, we’re committed to ensuring that every decision reflects the highest standards of fairness and accountability.

Casper College Economics Club

SparkTank is hosted and judged by the Casper College Economics Club. This year, the Economics Club proudly took on full leadership of SparkTank, bringing new energy and thoughtful insight to the event. We are excited for their continued involvement and look forward to their participation in next year’s Spark Tank as well. The Casper College Economics Club provides a forum for discussion and critical thinking on all aspects of life, including human action, markets, public policy, and the advancement of human civilization. The club also hosts a weekly reading group for students interested in deepening their understanding of economics, emphasizing how crucial economic thinking is to making better decisions in our personal and professional lives, all in a thoughtful and digestible way.
