The October edition of the Werner Wildlife Study Series at Casper College will look at Wyoming hummingbirds in a presentation titled “Hummingbirds 101” presented by Zach Hutchinson Tuesday, Oct. 21, beginning at 6 p.m.

Those attending will discover the world of Wyoming hummingbirds and learn the best methods for attracting, finding, and protecting some of America’s favorite and most charismatic birds. “While summer may be over, we can still appreciate these colorful visitors and prepare for their return next spring,” said Dalene Hodnett, director of museums.

Hutchinson is the community science coordinator for Audubon Rockies, the regional office of the National Audubon Society for Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah. Hutchinson wrote The Great Wyoming Bird Trail, an app that guides bird enthusiasts in finding birds in Wyoming.

The presentation is free, family-friendly, and open to the public. It will take place in the museum’s Africa-Arctic Room. For more information, call 307-235-2108.

The Werner Wildlife Museum, located off the Casper College campus at 405 E. 15th Street, is free and open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
