Demonstrations highlight ‘Tools of the Trade’ at Casper College

Some exciting demonstrations of the latest industry equipment in education will be featured at Casper College’s “Tools of the Trade” event Wednesday, July 9, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Live demonstrations will include those from Miller Electric featuring the OptX handheld laser welder and Hypertherm/Arclight Dynamics plasma cutting systems, according to Rachel Wright, academic assistant. “Visitors can create a CC logo cutout and weld it together with the demo equipment, which will be a cool takeaway for prospective students,” said Wright.
Sponsored by the Casper College School of Business and Industry, “Tools of the Trade” showcases the excellent career training available at Casper College in a variety of industry areas. Tours of the various shops on campus will be available, and instructors will meet with students to help them register for classes and discover how a certificate or degree can put them one step closer to a well-paying job.
The programs featured during “Tools of the Trade” will include auto body, automotive, aviation, construction, diesel, electronics, engineering technology, fire science, machine tool, manufacturing, and welding.
Casper College offers high-quality instruction and training for high-demand, high-wage jobs in industry. “We have so much to offer at Casper College, both affordable degrees and certificates,” said Rachel Chadderdon, dean of the Casper College School of Business and Industry. “We are excited to show off our various industry programs and get students registered as they begin their journey,” she added.
“Tools of the Trade” is open to everyone and will take place in the Werner Technical Center lobby on the Casper College campus. Walk-ins are welcome. Those who have questions or would like to make an appointment for a specific area can call Wright at 307-268-2494 or rachel.wright@caspercollege.edu.
