Transfer Opportunities

The Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Musical Theatre Performance is specifically engineered for a seamless transfer to four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) programs. Through our 2+2 transfer agreements and the WyoTransfer system, our graduates regularly transition to the University of Wyoming and other prestigious conservatories across the country. Learning Outcomes
  • Exhibit a basic understanding and appreciation of today’s theatre in context with the history of theatrical performance.
  • Demonstrate functional knowledge of the various theoretical elements of music, visually and aurally, and apply basic piano skills.
  • Analyze self to achieve self-knowledge and self-awareness – of personal strengths, personal habitual patterns, and the areas in which the student will need further development. 
    Develop physical strength, vocal strength, singing technique, and flexibility to enable greater embodiment of creative/acting choices.
  • Develop the ability to live convincingly in imagined circumstances, conveying to the audience a sense of emotional truth.
  • Respond to fellow performers with focused, concentrated, and active listening, exhibiting the ability to actively give and take within performance.
  • Analyze characters to understand context and subtext, and discover the contradictions and opposites within character.
  • Exhibit mutually respectful working behavior with all personnel involved in theatre productions.
