Athletic Training

Athletic Trainers (ATs) are health care professionals who collaborate with physicians. As a team, they work to help prevent injuries and provide emergency care. They identify injuries and provide treatment intervention. Athletic trainers also help with rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.

What are the features of Casper’s program?

Students enrolled in the Casper College Athletic Training Program will gain a broad range of experience and specialized training:

  • Get hands-on clinical experience beginning with your first semester in the program.
  • Work with other health care students using our high-tech simulation center.
  • Experience college athletics, high school athletics, physician shadowing, and physical therapy clinics.
  • Coursework and clinical experiences prepare you to excel at an accredited four-year program.
  • Learn more than 300 proficiencies required to become a certified athletic trainer.
  • Learn from experienced instructors. Some of our graduates have gone on to work in Division I college athletics, the NBA, the Justin Sports Medicine Program, and professional clinical settings.

Graduates have the skills and knowledge to do well in an accredited four-year program. Most four-year programs reserve the majority of hands-on opportunities for juniors and seniors. At Casper College, students have the chance to work with our student-athletes as freshmen and sophomores. Because of this, you will have a competitive advantage when you transfer to an accredited school.
