The Spanish associate degree prepares you for work in a globalized economy, as the Spanish language has the second most native speakers in the world. And with the U.S. being the second-largest Spanish-speaking country, you will find Spanish used to connect and collaborate in many industries across the country — from business, to healthcare, education, law, international relations and other career fields.

What are the features of Casper’s program?

Faculty-led study abroad courses take students to Mexico, Spain and other countries for two weeks of Spanish language and experiencing the local culture.
Spanish Book Club meets weekly to talk stories, culture, history, just practice using Spanish, and even meet new friends.
A local community group, the Charla, meets monthly at local restaurants where students chat with Spanish speakers of all abilities — including native speakers!

Through Casper College’s Spanish program, you will achieve intermediate-level Spanish proficiencies as well as an understanding of cultural and historical contexts both within the U.S. and throughout the Spanish-speaking world.

This degree may also complement other fields of study as a double major.

What are the special admission requirements, if any?

There are no pre-reqs for this program.

Students who continue with a language previously studied should register for the courses corresponding to their level of proficiency. Contact the Casper College Department of World Languages for help with placement.

Credit by Examination (CLEP) – Students who qualify may earn credit by examination in the elementary and intermediate language courses. To obtain credit by examination, students must contact the Student Success Center at 307-268-2089.
