A new endowed scholarship for second-year nursing students in honor of Mary Jo Currence Hardy has been established at Casper College.

The endowed scholarship was created by Hardy’s husband, Bill. A Casper native, Hardy graduated from Natrona County High School and attended Casper College, but had lived in Cody for many years. According to Bill, the memorial scholarship in honor of Hardy was created because there is a need for good nurses.

To qualify, applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5, be enrolled in 12 credit hours, and major in nursing. Each year, one second-year nursing student will be awarded $1,000, split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. First preference will be given to a student from Cody. Second preference will be given to an applicant from Park County, Wyoming. Finally, the third preference will be given to an applicant from Casper.

Casper College makes it easy to apply for this and other Casper College scholarships.
