Casper College overlooks the city from the foothills of Casper Mountain in central Wyoming.

Susan Anderson, a deeply respected community leader and steadfast supporter of education, passed away on Nov. 10, leaving an extraordinary legacy at Casper College and throughout Natrona County.

Shortly after former Casper College president Walter Nolte arrived in 2004, Anderson was hired as a consultant to help guide a transformative period of campus expansion. Her strategic insight, deep knowledge of the community, and remarkable ability to connect with citizens were instrumental in securing the passage of a special mill levy that funded the construction of five major campus buildings. Many credited her work and her understanding of Natrona County voters as essential to the success of that bond election.

Anderson and her husband, Dale Bohren, elected last year to the Casper College board of trustees, have long been true friends of Casper College. Their shared commitment to education, the arts, and the well-being of the community has shaped and strengthened the college for decades.

The Casper College community extends its heartfelt condolences to Bohren and all who loved Anderson. Her leadership, generosity of spirit, and lasting contributions continue to benefit our students and campus every day, and she will be deeply missed.
