Join the Casper College Community Education Department for its International Dinner Series: Colombia. The culturally based event invites the community to celebrate Colombia’s vibrant flavors and traditions Thursday, Nov. 6, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The evening will feature authentic Colombian cuisine, educational displays, and engaging presentations by Colombian natives, according to Zhanna Gallegos, community education coordinator. “Participants will explore how art, music, and food connect through color, flavor, and authenticity with Manuela Ortiz, learn about Colombia’s export products and major cities with Nohora Groce, and experience the country’s spirit through a coffee and carnival presentation by Katherin Arango,” said Gallegos.

By studying Colombia’s culture, participants will gain a deeper understanding of others’ experiences and viewpoints. “We’re excited to explore the unique traditions and customs of a country,” noted Gallegos.

A remarkably diverse country, both culturally and biologically, Colombia is the only South American nation with both Pacific and Caribbean coastlines, featuring everything from rainforests and the Andes Mountains to vibrant cities. Its culture blends Indigenous, African, and Spanish roots, seen in its music, coffee, festivals, and people. Colombia is also one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, second only to Brazil.

“We invite the community to come join us to celebrate Colombia’s culture and heritage at Casper College,” Gallegos added.

The cost per person for the Casper College Community Education Department’s International Dinner Series is $41. No alcohol will be served. The registration deadline is Wednesday, Oct. 22, and each participant must register and pay for this event separately. Registration is easy and online.
