A one-day class, “Project Management for the Nonproject Manager,” will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. via Zoom.

The live class will be taught by Project and Engagement Manager, Coach, and Consultant Ashleigh Clark. The class is an overview of the critical concepts for those who don’t manage projects but would like to learn more about project management, or who are just getting started.

Participants will learn about the role of a project manager, how to adjust when projects go off track, and the basics of initiating, planning, and closing their projects. “The goal of this class is to set the stage for a basic understanding of what project management is, why it’s important, and how it’s done,” noted Andee Stewart, Casper College workforce development coordinator.

Topics to be covered include key project management concepts, defining scope, creating a work breakdown structure, risk, cost and quality management, and retrospectives of lessons learned.

Registration for “Project Management for the Nonproject Manager” is easy, and following registration, participants will be sent a class link. The cost for the class is $200, and upon successful completion, it is worth 0.6 continuing education units.
