A new certificate program in sound design, titled “The Art of Sound,” will be available to earn beginning in the fall 2025 semester.

“Whether dreaming of producing music, mastering live sound, or launching a podcast, “The Art of Sound Design” certificate at Casper College will provide the hands-on training and technical expertise students need,” said Larry Burger, sound design and theater instructor at Casper College.

To add to the excitement of the new certificate program, the college recently purchased and installed the Flock Audio PATCH XT digitally controlled, all-analog patch bays into the recording studio. The PATCH System Series is a digitally controlled, 100% analog patch bay routing solution for professional audio environments, adding new learning opportunities for students.

Casper College provides state-of-the-art recording studios, live production spaces, and expert faculty so students can gain real-world experience in audio acoustics and studio technology, live sound production, podcast and broadcast editing, industry standards and compliance, and entrepreneurship. “Students will engage in both lecture and hands-on experiences,” said Burger.

The certificate program comprises 22 credit hours and can easily be completed in one year. The certificate is designed for those seeking careers in sound engineering, live event production, and digital media.
