The Carl and Kathryn Werner Trust has established the Zak Werner Memorial Scholarship.

Zak Werner, a Casper native, was a naturally talented artist whose creativity lives on in the beauty he left behind. His family remembers his kindness and generosity, in addition to his admiration for other artists. In remembrance of their son, Carl and Kathryn set about giving others the opportunity to pursue artistic interests. They noted that Zak’s treasured portfolio is diverse, with a special focus on pencil and chalk drawings featuring ancient Egyptian themes.

The new scholarship will provide a Casper College student $2,000 for a school year. To qualify, students must be art majors with a minimum 2.0 GPA and take at least six credit hours. Wyoming residents are preferred.
