The Tate Geological Museum is hosting a fun event titled “Fantom of the Museum — A Fundraiser for Fans of the Tate Geological Museum” on Friday, October 6, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn.

The benefit event includes dinner, an auction, music by local musicians, and a presentation by JP Cavigelli, Tate Geological Museum collections specialist, titled “Scenes From a Dinosaur Quarry — Findings From Our Summer Digs.”

Fantom of the Museum will begin with a social hour and cash bar, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Cavigelli’s presentation will start at 7 p.m., followed by a live auction at 7:30. The auction will feature art, mineral specimens, and “exclusive” field trip offerings, according to Dalene Hodnett, museum director.

Funds raised at Fantom of the Museum will provide financial support for museum exhibitions, collections, education, and outreach so the Tate can offer a memorable experience for families, engage students in the natural world, and serve as a research destination for international scientists. “Fantom of the Museum is our most important fundraiser of the year in support of our educational and STEM programming,” said Hodnett. “Please join the Tate staff in our mission to engage communities on a learning journey in the natural sciences as either a guest, a sponsor, or both,” Hodnett added.

Tickets are $150 for two people or $800 for a table of eight. Tables will include wine samples and mineral specimens.

For tickets, sponsorship opportunities, or possibilities to support the museum remotely, please call Hodnett at 307-268-3026.

The Hilton Garden Inn is located at 1150 N. Poplar St. in Casper.
