Casper College’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, Brandon Kosine, was chosen as one of only 30 Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s Distinguished College Administrator award winners.

“(Nearly) 1,300 PTK chapters, (nationally and) internationally, nominated administration for this award and only 30 of them were selected,” noted Jacob Klaudt, 2022-2023 Casper College Zetta Alpha Chapter of PTK vice president of leadership.

According to PTK’s website, the Distinguished College Administrator Awards are given to community college vice presidents, deans, or leaders other than college presidents/CEOs serving a community college in an administrative capacity who have demonstrated a strong level of support for Phi Theta Kappa. Recipients must have served at least three years in their roles.

Kosine was nominated by Casper College’s Zetta Alpha Chapter of the PTK officer team. In their nomination, the members wrote: “One of the most essential ways Dr. Kosine has supported Phi Theta Kappa is by attending the bi-yearly induction ceremonies of new members. (He) has attended these inductions faithfully, spoken to the audience, and participated in fellowship with members and guests after the event.

“Dr. Kosine’s connections with Serve Wyoming and the Rotary Club of Casper have also been a big support to PTK. (His) involvement in both of these organizations allowed Zeta Alpha to collaborate with them for our college project: Casper College Cares Day.

“Another example of how Dr. Kosine has supported PTK is by keeping the Casper College board of trustees up to date on all things PTK. During meetings with the board, (he) shares member successes, chapter events, and accomplishments, as well as things the chapter requires for an even higher degree of achievement.”

Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing students’ academic achievement at associate degree-granting colleges and helping them grow as scholars and leaders. PTK comprises over 3.5 million members and nearly 1,300 chapters in 11 nations, with approximately 240,000 active members in the nation’s colleges.
