Short-term job opportunities at Casper College

Several short-term job opportunities are available at Casper College for the college’s popular KEY Camp for students entering the seventh or eighth grade in fall 2022.

The first job opportunity is for classroom aides. The aides will assist in implementing KEY Camp and support instructors and campers. Camp classroom aides must be available to work one day before camp begins and through the duration of camp. Classroom aides must be 16 or older and will be paid a $500 stipend and lunch Sunday-Friday. The dates of employment are June 10-24, except for Saturdays.

KEY Camp Counselors will assist in implementing KEY Camp and support instructors, other counselors, and campers. Camp counselors must be available to work two days before camp begins and through the duration of camp. Camp counselors are required to stay overnight in the Casper College Residence Hall. Camp counselors must be 18 or older. The dates of employment are June 10-24, except for Saturdays, and those hired will be paid a $750 stipend and room and board.

One KEY Camp lead counselor is also sought. The lead counselor will coordinate and oversee camp programs, assist with the training of camp staff, and support instructors, camp counselors, and campers. The lead counselor is required to stay overnight in the Residence Hall and is responsible for the supervision of campers and counselors at all times. The counselor must be 21 or older and, in addition to receiving room and board, will be paid a stipend of $2400. The dates of employment are June 10-24.

Finally, registered nurses are also being hired for the camp. The RNs will provide care for the well-being of campers and staff, monitor health and cleanliness standards, administer medication and treatment to campers and staff, and comply with the necessary documentation. The RNs will also work with KEY Camp staff to ensure a high-quality, positive, and safe experience for campers. Nurses must be 21 or older and be licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Wyoming.

There are three hiring tiers for RNs. For the full-time position, the RN must be available 24/7. The stipend for the position ranges between $3,700 and $4,000 and room and board is provided. The part-time day shift, which runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., pays a stipend of $1,800 and includes lunch Sunday through Friday of each week. The part-time night shift runs from 4 p.m.-9 a.m. and includes a stipend of $2,000 and room and board for the duration of the camp.
