Birds’ Season Begins with GW Mechanical Tip-Off Classic

The regular season for both the men’s and women’s Thunderbird Basketball teams begins this weekend with the GW Mechanical Tip-Off Classic November 2 and 3 at the “Swede” Erickson Thunderbird Gymnasium.

The tournament begins on Friday, Nov. 2 when the Central Wyoming College Lady Rustlers take on the Air Force Academy Preparatory Huskies at 1:30 p.m. That game will be followed at 3:30 when the Gillette College Pronghorns take on the men of Impact Academy.

The T-Birds will play the final two games of the day with the women taking on the Lady Rattlers of Otero Junior College at 5:30 p.m. and the men playing against the Air Force Academy Preparatory Huskies at 7:30.

Saturday’s action will begin at 1:30 p.m. with the Lady Rattlers going against the Lady Rustlers. At 3:30 the Air Force Academy Preparatory men’s team will take on the Pronghorns. The final two games will again feature the Thunderbirds with the Lady T-Birds playing against the Huskies at 5:30 and the T-Birds taking on the men of Impact Academy at 7:30.

Ticket prices are adults 18 and over $4, seniors 60 and over $3, students 13-17 $2, and children 12 and under free. There is no additional charge to attend other games on the same day as long as fans have their hand stamped if they leave and plan to return. Tickets are available at the door.
