Creating your own permaculture garden will be the focus of “A Rose is a Rose is a Rose: Plants for Your Permaculture Garden” offered by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Casper College on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Taught by Laurel Graham, landscape designer, restoration design, and nursery operator, the workshop will focus on “plants for the central Wyoming area; choosing plants for a permaculture installation for year-round flowers and fruit production, autumn color, winter protection, and visual interest,” she said.

Graham is owner and operator of Tara Farm and Nursery north of Casper. “Over the last 10 years, many fruit shrubs and native plants have been tried, tested, and tortured by nature at Tara. The results are “… native and horticultural fruit shrubs and plants specifically for hedgerow, windbreak, and gardens in this high and dry place,” Graham said.
