“Treasure Island” will set sail on the McMurry Mainstage beginning on Thursday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are now on sale for the adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s acclaimed novel of pirates, buried treasure, and adventure on the high seas.

“This production is an exciting project for the city of Casper, and a great opportunity for the students of the department of theatre and dance! Swordplay, treasure-hunting, ship-rigging to climb, and storms at sea. It will be a wonderful adventure,” said Richard Burk, director. “I hope that the audience will enjoy our production of ‘Treasure Island’ that is filled, like any good pirate story, with pirates, thrills, danger, threat, and redemption,” he said.

Other dates for “Treasure Island” include April 27 and 28 and May 2 through 5 at 7:30 p.m. and one matinee on April 29 at 2 p.m. The performance on May 3 will also be American Sign Language interpreted.

“Treasure Island” is recommended for ages 8 and up. Tickets can be purchased online at www.caspercollegearts.cc, at the box office between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, by phone at 307-268-2500, or one hour before each performance, for that performance only. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students 8-18.

The McMurry Mainstage is located in the Gertrude Krampert Center for Theatre and Dance on the Casper College campus.
