Basketball Teams Celebrate Veterans with “Military Appreciation Night”

The Casper College basketball teams will celebrate veterans with a special “Military Appreciation Night” on Wednesday, Feb. 21.

The Casper College basketball teams will celebrate veterans with a special “Military Appreciation Night” on Wednesday, Feb. 21 beginning with the women’s game at 5:30 followed by the men’s at 7:30.

The T-Birds will take on the Sheridan Generals. The last time the two teams met was in Sheridan, Wyoming, when the men lost to the Generals 66-62 while the Lady T-Birds won 79-46.

The evening will feature free admission for veterans and current military and their guest with valid ID. In addition to the free admission, the Casper College Veterans Club will hold a 50/50 raffle to benefit their programs, representatives from different military branches will be in attendance, a color guard will perform, and the national anthem will be performed by Technical Sergeant First Class Brandon Rodriguez.

Admission for nonmilitary to “Military Appreciation Night” is $4 for those 18 and over, $3 for those 60 and over, and $2 for those aged 13-17. Children 12 and under get in free.

Both games will be held in the “Swede” Erickson Thunderbird Gym on the Casper College campus. The final game of the regular season will take place on Saturday, February 24 during homecoming sponsored by the Casper College Alumni Association, when the birds will take on the Gillette College Pronghorns.
