By: Casper College staff

Netherlands dishes will be served at the first of two cultural dinners scheduled for the fall 2017 semester at Casper College on Friday, Sep. 22 from 5-6:30 p.m. in Tobin Dining Hall.

The Netherlands cultural dinner will feature Erwtensoep (Dutch Pea Soup), Salade van Pastinaken (Parsnip and Lettuce Salad), Tijgerbrood (Tiger Bread/Dutch Crunch Roll), Kip met Slagroomsaus (Chicken with Mushroom Cream Sauce), Hackee (Beef Stew with Apples), Boter Koek (Dutch Butter Cake), and Dutch Ice Box Cookies.

In addition, the dinner will feature an after-dinner presentation by Casper College world languages instructor Charles Ewing who will speak about his exchange residency in the Netherlands this past summer.

Advance tickets for the Netherlands dinner are $13.30 at the door for adults (ages 12 and older), $10 for ages 5 to 11, and free for children 5 and under. Sales tax will be added to all ticket purchases. Tickets purchased at the door are $14 for adults 12 and older and $10.50 for ages 5 to 11.

Advanced ticket deadline: Friday, Sept. 15 Tickets may be purchased at the Casper College Accounting/Cashier (8 a.m.-4:45 p.m.) and Gateway Café (7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.), both located in the Walter H. Nolte Gateway Center, third floor, as well as at the Union/University’s Tobin Dining Hall during regular meal times. Cash is accepted at all locations, and credit cards and checks at the cafeteria and cafe. Because dinners often sell out, advanced ticket purchases are highly encouraged. Contact Dining Services at 307-268-2004 with questions.

Tobin Dining Hall is located in the Casper College Student Union. Those attending the dinner are encouraged to use the parking lots located to the west of the building.

The ethnic dinner series is sponsored by the Casper College International Education advisory board, and is presented by Sodexo Campus Dining. The dinner series will feature Italy on Nov. 10 with India and Quebec following in the spring semester.
